After a couple of years of promising myself another vacation to New Zealand I have finally decided that this is the year that I am going. Over the next several weeks I will be walking you through the process of planning an international vacation to New Zealand. We will be covering issues like getting your passport, finding affordable flights, booking tours and cruises and finding the right type of accommodations for you and your vacation party.
The first topic that I would like to talk about is deciding when to vacation in New Zealand. As you are aware of, New Zealand is in the Southern Hemisphere. This means that their seasons are the opposite of those in the Northern Hemisphere. This means that if you want winter conditions during your vacation then you will want to travel during what we would consider winter months, and if you want summer conditions then you will need to travel during what we consider winter months.
If you are interested in outdoor adventures then your best option is to travel during New Zealand’s spring and summer months. These months start in October and run through March. On the other hand, if you are interested in exploring the winter wonderlands of New Zealand, go skiing or explore national parks when they are not crowded, then you will want to plan your vacation during the months of April through September. However, make sure you check with the attractions that you are interested in to make sure they will be open during the winter.
Return to this blog on Mondays and Fridays to walk through the process of planning your New Zealand vacation from outdoor activities to selecting the best places to stop for authentic New Zealand food and drinks.

I’m praying for the people of NZ people who are suffering from trauma after the devastating earthquake has wreaked the city.
Would like to add that people who are travelling by campervan in the New Zealand summer holiday (december-january)should book their camping grounds a day or 3 in advance.
