New Zealand Cruises: Events for April

This week in New Zealand you are going to have the chance to go for a historic cruise, have a good laugh or go for the bike ride of your life!

The first event/activity that you can participate in this week is the Historic Northland Cruise. This cruise event will depart on April 18 at 9:00 a.m. and return on Tuesday, April 22 at 3:30 p.m. This cruise is aboard the spectacular R. Tucker Thompson, which is a tall ship. This event is perfect for people who want to see New Zealand as both the first Maori and first Western settlers saw it, from the water. This is also a great chance to learn a little bit about the sea faring history of New Zealand.

The second event that you can participate in this week is the New Zealand International Comedy Festival, which kicks off on April 18. This month long event will feature 300 of the world’s leading comedians, including Ari Barker, Ewen Gilmour and Dai Henwoode. 110 shows are scheduled throughout the festival and shows will be offered in a variety of cities across the country. Auckland and Wellington are going to be hot spots for comedy festival events, so keep your eyes open.

The third event that is scheduled for this week is the Arrow Brunner Cycle Rise. This 130KM sealed circuit cycle race will start and end in Greymouth. The race route will take you past the Tasman Sea, past the Jackson’ Historic Tavern, through rainforests and past several valley lakes. You can enter this race as an individual or as a couple. Or, if you don’t feel like racing, you can just relax and watch the race from the sidelines.

When planning a New Zealand vacation, you will want to plan at least one New Zealand outdoor activity and at least one New Zealand cruise. Return next week to the New Zealand Vacation Blog for more event announcements.

The Historic Northland Cruise is one that you shouldn’t miss if you’re planning to visit New Zealand. You’ll learn about the this beautiful country’s history more when you go on this trip. This is recommended to those who are into culture and history and to those who would want their vacations to be educational as well.
