New Zealand Vacation Planning Tips

Booking a Cruise for Your New Zealand Vacation
Booking New Zealand Cruises

Like I have mentioned in earlier posts, one of the activities that you need to do while on your New Zealand vacation is to take a cruise. New Zealand is a country that has numerous bodies of water that you can explore. In order to truly experience New Zealand, you need to get onto a boat and view the country from the water.

The first type of New Zealand cruises that you can take are ocean cruises. These cruises will follow the coastline of New Zealand and provide you with a unique view of the North and South Islands. There are several cruise lines that offer these types of cruises, including Holland America. Some cruises will start in Australia and take you to New Zealand and back again, while others will originate in New Zealand.

The second type of New Zealand cruises that you can take are fjiord cruises. These cruises will take you through the amazing fjords of New Zealand’s South Island. This is a great option for honeymooners, singles and families.

The final type of New Zealand cruises that you can take are lake cruises. Lake cruises are usually handled by local captains and tour companies. They will provide you with a great view of the unique landscape of New Zealand, as well as provide you with information about the local ecology and geological features.

When you book a New Zealand cruise you need to plan ahead, especially if you are planning an ocean or fjord cruise. For ocean or fjord cruises you will want to book your passage between six and eight months ahead of time. Lake cruises can usually be booked a month in advance, or in some cases, the day of the cruise.
