This zone is the best known region in New Zealand for wine making and it is the best place to visit if you want to explore New Zealand’s wine region and you don’t have a lot of time.
Marlborough is known around the world for its Sauvignin Blanc. This is because the grapes grown in this region have a unique flavor. They are zesty and pungent. This gives the wines that are made from these grapes a very lively flavor.
As mentioned above, the most popular wine produced in Marlborough is the Sauvignon Blanc, however, Chardonnays, Pinot Noir and Rieslings are also popular varieties, listed in order of popularity. Recently, the area has also gained attention for its sparkling wines, its red table wines and its white table wines.
