This weekend there are a lot of great events going on in New Zealand. If you are a soccer fan then make your way to one of the New Zealand Football Championship games held this Saturday. If you are in Wellington on Saturday, stop by Newton Park on Mansfield Street in Newton, Wellington to see Wellington play Waikato. Admission is NZ$7 for adults and kids under 16 get in free.

If you are looking to get in a little sport of your own, then consider entering the North Shore City Coastal Challenge. This event is fun for athletes of all abilities. The point of this unique race is to get from point A to point B without using a road. You can run, swim, puddle hop or float to get where you need to go. Two main events are available. The first involves both land and water and stretches 33 km. The second is for people who don’t want to get wet and it stretches a more modest 6 km. This event is held in Auckland, New Zealand on the North Shore.

If sports are not your cup of tea, then consider sampling New Zealand’s finest wines and cuisine at the Tauranga Food and Wine Festival. This event will be held in the Bay of Plenty in the Wharepari Domain on Cameraon Road in Tauranga. It will be held between noon and six, and it will feature wines from local wineries and food from local restaurants. All the proceeds from the Tauranga Food and Wine Festival will be donated to the Waipuna Hospice. Admission is $25 per person.
