New Zealand Holidays Perfect for Vacationers

Event Calendar for December 15-31:
Celebrate New Zealand Holidays With the Locals
New Zealand Holidays:
What You Can Do Between December 15 and 31

Last week I talked about New Zealand cruises, this week’s discussion is going to be about New Zealand holidays. New Zealand has a large Christian population so Christmas is celebrated on both the North and the South Islands. This means that if you are planning to visit New Zealand during your Christmas holiday, you are going to find a lot of great Christmas celebrations and events.

While you will find that the Kiwis decorate for Christmas just like we do in the United States, the weather is a lot warmer because it is summer time in New Zealand during this holiday. Because of this, a lot of the Christmas activities that are planned are going to feel more like Fourth of July events. You will find water races, beach parties, and street festivals.

If you are looking for a unique Christmas experience then plan to be in Omarama near Christchurch and Canterbury between December 19th and December 24. During this six day period the FAI World Gliding Championship will be help. You can watch as the world’s best gliders compete for bragging rights. Watch aerial battles and races live as the rest of the world has to view these amazing events on TV or online.

New Zealand holidays are great times to visit this little country. While visiting make sure you sign up to take several New Zealand cruises. Next week I’ll talk about what you can do in January on a New Zealand vacation.
