Summer is approaching in New Zealand…

When planning a vacation to New Zealand it is important to remember that their seasons are opposite of those in North America. That means during the winter holidays in North America that New Zealand is having their summer tourism season. This is great news if you want to take your vacation during your kids’ winter break.

However, if you are planning to visit Akaroa or other New Zealand towns during your winter break, you need to be prepared for crowds. This is particularly true near resort towns and the beaches. Prices for everything from food to lodging will also be higher during this time of the year.

On the other hand, planning a New Zealand vacation during your winter break means that you will have good weather and lots of activities to choose between. This is especially true on the North Island, which has a more tropical climate. If you want to visit the South Island you will have plenty of opportunities for hiking, ice climbing , glacier exploration, and my favorite, black water rafting.

What is your favorite New Zealand activity? Which season is the best season to visit this country? Why?

I traveled to NZ a few years ago and was really taken by the country and the people.

traveling requires planning, preparation, and less of an expense than grandiose vacations. Depending on what you wish to see and how much you plan on spending, you can have an awesome time.
